Craig joined Hemlow as a Lead Engineer based in the Midlands. A year later, he was promoted to Assistant Supervisor and is now playing a pivotal role in the startup and management of our new Midlands office. We caught up with him to get to know him a bit better.
Q. Describe yourself in three words.
A. Motivated, thorough, annoying (to some!)
Q. What does a good day at work look like to you?
A. Dealing with our clients, and keeping them in a happy place. There’s nothing worse than an angry client!
Q. What do you think are the most important qualities to have as a Hemlow employee?
A. Dedication and communication skills are very important. Sometimes to a client, communication comes above actual technical skills – they just need to be kept informed about their tasks. And flexibility – this job throws lots of curve balls.
Q. Who’s influenced your career most and why?
A. GOOGLE – In Google we trust. If you don’t know the answer Google it. Chances are, you’ll find it.
Q. What advice would you give your 16-year-old self?
A. Get more education. Definitely. I was in too much of a rush to get out of the school gates and should have taken it more seriously.
Q. Describe your perfect day away from work.
A. Jumping into a warm sea with my SCUBA on. Nothing tops that for me.
Q. What are you passionate about?
A. The oceans – we’re killing them.
Q. What’s your favourite quote/motto?
A. Nothing is impossible – the word itself says ‘I’m possible’
Q. What can’t you live without?
A. The wife – she would kill me if I didn’t say that. Oh and mobile data of course!
